Dermal Fillers

The application of dermal fillers is frequently requested in order to pause the signs of ageing, as well as creating stronger definition to the facial features.

An injectable procedure that can be administered to a variety of areas on the face may help to: soften the look of lines and wrinkles, add volume to the hollows around the eyes, re-contour the jawline and plump up thin lips and flat cheeks. Dermal fillers also contain hyaluronic acid for boosting the skin’s hydration and restoring a youthful, radiant glow.

An individual approach to targeting the signs of ageing can help to improve the structure of the face and skin. High quality skincare such as medical grade skincare works well alongside dermal fillers to help keep the skin looking firm and full, as well as feeling soft and supple.

Collagen and elastin are the natural substances found within the skin that work to maintain volume and hydration – properties which dermal fillers work to restore.

Dr Nandi takes an in depth look at the client’s concerns during a pre-treatment consultation. Whether it’s crow’s feet, flat cheeks, under-eye bags, thin lips, smokers’ lines, creases around the mouth or jowls, she will apply just the right amount of filler to create a naturally rejuvenated look.

The injections are administered using a very fine needle in order to minimise any discomfort and a topical numbing cream can be applied beforehand if the client wishes. There is also numbing agent contained within the filler that is injected and so this also contributes to pain management during the procedure.

Only the highest quality fillers are used at The Bloom Clinic, ensuring the treatment not only produces a successful result, but that it is safe too. As well as helping to pause the signs of ageing and creating a more balanced look to the face, dermal fillers are also an effective treatment for improving facial asymmetry. The treatments typically last between 9-24 months depending on the area treated.

Frequently asked questions

Dermal fillers are a great treatment for reversing the signs of ageing and restoring a youthful appearance. A pre-treatment consultation with Dr Nandi will assess your conditions and discuss your expected outcome. Applying dermal fillers where they can benefit you most will be administered with care and precision for a temporary restoration of your natural youthful looks. A regular series of treatments are recommended to maintain the results – however those who are pregnant or breastfeeding are not recommended for this treatment due to lack of studies on the effects in pregnancy and breastfeeding.

The Bloom Clinic uses dermal fillers by Juvederm and Teoxane for their well-known safety record and successful outcomes. Treating the signs of ageing or re-contouring the features with dermal fillers is a popular procedure and is one of the most requested treatments through many aesthetic practices. Dr Nandi is a trained specialist who takes great care in the application of this injectable treatment, taking the welfare and safety of all her clients into great consideration.

The application of dermal fillers can cause some mild discomfort for the client. To minimise any sensitivity, a very fine needle is used and the client may wish Dr Nandi to apply a topical numbing cream to the area prior to treatment. The fillers chosen by The Bloom Clinic all contain numbing agent to help minimise any discomfort as Dr Nandi is dedicated to providing a comfortable experience for all her clients.

A temporary side effect of dermal fillers is redness and swelling at the treatment site. This usually settles within a few hours, but some slight bruising may be left behind. This will take a couple of days to disappear, but some clients find it barely noticeable and is easily covered over with a little makeup. Your medical history and any allergies will be discussed beforehand to reduce the risk of any adverse reactions occurring.

Any sensitivity, redness or tenderness will usually ease within 24 hours. Many clients feel that the application of dermal fillers does not cause any additional disruption to their day, and they are able to continue as normal.
