Forehead Lines
Forehead lines are the deeper set lines that run horizontally across the forehead and while they can be inherited genetically, they are most often caused by the repeated use of the muscles in the face.
The face is one of our most important tools with which we communicate and show our emotions. This involves the natural movement of facial muscles during facial expressions and the subsequent movement and creasing of the overlying skin which is closely attached to the muscles.
Over time, these repeated movements from facial expressions such as raising the eyebrows, along with thinning and reduced elasticity of the skin can cause grooves to settle on the surface.
A variety of external factors can combine with the intrinsic ones to accelerate the development of forehead lines. A healthy diet and staying well hydrated is important for efficient functioning of the body. We should always drink plenty of water, as poor hydration causes the skin to dry out, which contributes to the formation of wrinkles.
Smoking, alcohol consumption and sun exposure can also lower the skin’s hydration, as well as contributing to the breakdown of collagen and elastin from the skin, leading to a weakened structure.
Most people will start to see evidence of forehead lines as they enter their 30’s, becoming more prominent towards their 40’s and 50’s. These wrinkles can often make a person appear to be sad, worried or even older than their years.
Thankfully, The Bloom Clinic has a safe and effective treatment that can easily treat forehead lines. The application of anti-wrinkle injections can work to temporarily block the receptors and relax the movement of the muscles in the forehead.
This can give the skin a smoothed and more relaxed, youthful appearance. By erasing the worried expressions and replacing it with a happier, more content look, you can step out with the confidence to truly shine.
